Christie’s (50 Years of James Bond Auction)

Client

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of James Bond on film, Christie’s announces 50 Years of James Bond – The Auction which will present a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of Bond memorabilia direct from the archives of EON Productions as well as donations from the Bond cast.

Brief

Alp Print worked closely with Christie’s to launch the marketing collateral for this unique and prestigious auction, timed to coincide with the launch of Skyfall – the 23rd instalment of the Bond series. We were required to source all the materials for a number of print pieces. An auction of this nature presents itself with an opportunity to produce a printed piece that requires the finest materials working in harmony with great graphic design.

Solution

The invitation was printed sheetwork on a Ryobi 750 5 colour (including coater) in four colours throughout on the front only. Printed on 400gsm regency satin and silk coated on the press.

The A5 Invitation and Information Card were white and gold foiled throughout. The invitations were duplexed together with a 350gsm GF Smith Colour Plan Ebony (Black) board and trimmed flush: the overall result was a luxurious two colour 750gsm invite. The envelope was printed single colour on C5 peel and seal envelopes (gold foiled both sides), the packs were made up and supplied to Christie’s.

The studio double checked the artwork was prepared correctly for the varied finishing methods. PDF proofs were supplied and approved by the client.
